Gongbi painting, sometimes called "the careful brush", is a traditional Chinese painting technique. It is characterized by great detail, fine brushstrokes and high precision.
The exact reproduction of nature is the focus of this style.
The XieYi technique, also called "Free Style", is painted fresh from the hand and the design of the image is subject to few restrictions.
In the style of calligraphy, the image should not be painted, but written.
The ShanShui painting, literally translated "mountain-water" painting, is the traditional Chinese landscape painting. Often painted exclusively with ink but also colorful watercolor landscapes can be found in this style.
The traditional Chinese opera is known in Europe mainly for its colorful masks. A few of them I have captured in oil. These are original motifs from the Chinese opera.
